Endocuff-assisted colonoscopy: a new accessory to improve adenoma detection rate? Technical aspects and first clinical experiences
Frank Lenze, Torsten Beyna, Philipp Lenz, Hauke S. Heinzow, Karin Hengst, Hansjoerg Ullerich Lenze. Endoscopy. 2014 Jul;46(7):610-4.
Fifty colonoscopies were performed using the ENDOCUFF™, the caecal intubation rate was 98%, mean intubation took 6.0 minutes ileal intubation rate 76%, Adenoma detection rate (ADR) was 34%.
Conclusion: the ENDOCUFF™ is a new, safe, and promising attachable device for screening colonoscopy, it may facilitate complete colonoscopy and improve visualization of colonic mucosa, especially at the proximal side of the colonic folds, and may therefore improve the ADR due to improved tip control. The ENDOCUFF™ may also facilitate polypectomy. Further prospective trials should investigate whether ENDOCUFF™ can improve the ADR compared with standard colonoscopy and cap-assisted colonoscopy.
The Endocuff is feasible, safe, reliable and easy to handle and might have potential to reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer

My colleagues and I have definitely found polyps that they didn’t see with the forward view. We feel we were doing an excellent exam with current colonoscopy and that this made it better.
